How to use Databox

Databox overview

Databox is a module within Aura, which provides profile-level access to a global dataset of 12M companies, allowing fast dataset downloads with ready-to-use filters.

Right now, Databox is in its beta version, please reach out to us if you have any questions or feedback.

To access Databox, first, go to Aura’s main page. After clicking on the Databox module, you will be directed to Databox’s main page, which has different filters for you to apply and then download the relevant profiles

How to use the filters

Current job

  • The Current job lets you enter the titles of current job, as well as the start date to focus on more recent roles
  • Hover on the ℹ️ button on the top right to understand how the search works

Country

  • Country lets you choose the region the profile is based in from a drop-down menu
  • Type the name of the country, for example, “United States” and as you are typing, the country should show up in the drop-down
  • At this point, the drop-down list has ALL of the countries the data covers

Region [coming soon!]

  • If you want to narrow down the geographical focus even further, you can use the Region field
  • Search by typing in the name of the region and choose from the drop-down menu
  • Please note that not all countries have a detailed breakdown of regions, like the United States

Current company and Past company

  • Use Current company to filter based on where they are currently working
  • Start searching by typing in the name of the company, and choosing from the drop-down list
  • Similarly, you can also filter based on previous employment using Past company

Career tenure

  • Career tenure lets you filter based on the total year of work experience
  • To use this filter, type in a numerical number, for example, 5 for 5 years of experience

School

  • School lets you filter based on where people went to school
  • Search by typing in the name of the school and choose the right one from the drop-down menu

Industry

  • If you think you need to limit the search to a certain industry, you can use Industry
  • Industry is tagged based on the sector of each company
  • Search by typing in the industry and choose the right one from the drop-down menu

Skills

  • Skills lets you filter based on the self-reported skillsets of each profile
  • Search by typing in the name of the skill and choose the right one from the drop-down menu

Downloading the data

After completing all of the fields, you will see the option to download the .CSV file at the bottom of the page, along with the number of profiles founded

After clicking Export all to .CSV, you will be prompted to enter a case code

You will be able to see the progress of the download at the bottom right of the screen

The downloaded file will have 61 columns, which contain all the raw data fields available for analyses.
